Crimson Spell Rozdział 24 RAW

A tutaj summary:
Val tries desperately to remove the cursed spikes from the dragon. His arms burned, he falls back as Rimrith warns him again that it is of no use and he will be torn apart by the magic in the spikes. Val says that there is no way that he would lose to a binding spell of this level and that he will just have to use an even more powerful curse - and transforms to his 'half-demon' form by will. Rimrith watches as Val moves on to make another attempt, and wonders how a prince of a kingdom could be so rash...and that this confidence must come with his young age...

A mysterious robed figure behind Rimrith echoes the words "One who reigns over humans, must be one who stands upon a heap of human corpses" Rimrith turns around quickly, but no one is there. Perhaps a figment of his imagination, Rimrith begins to recall his past once again: The same robed figure stands before a half human half serpent creature and laments that he has failed once again. The robed figure wishes that there was some way to fuse humans with the powerful body and near-immortal life span of a demon - and only those traits. However at the moment, the cells of the demon gradually overtake even the mind of the subject and it can no longer retain it's own mind/sanity.

This would not be good enough to create weapons, and the robed figure comments that the Lord/King would not be content with this. The robed figure then considers that though this process is not completely successful, perhaps it is better to use an object as a carrier for demon invocation as this spell seems to be more promising. Ordering that the creature before him be destroyed, the robed figure demands that the next 'body' be brought in. A slave is dragged in as he pleads for his life and wishes to not end up like the one before him as Rimrith asks the robed figure "...these men have merely commited petty crimes out of starvation and desperation...have you no guilt in doing this?"

The robed figure replies that an immortal and undying body is what the Lord/King wishes for and as the ruler of his people, it is the Lord's obligation to have. These people are being used for this magic spell and they should be happy to do so. As the body of the failed test subject is destroyed, the robed figure continues - if the one who reigns at the very top is to die, countless number of people will lose their way, and for that reason there are many many people who exist only to be of use to the Lord/King. The robed figure wonders why Rimrith would question that now all of a sudden, as Rimrith wonders if this is truly the wishes of the Lord/King himself.

Snapped back to reality by the sounds of clanging, Rimrith sees Val - cursed spikes in hand - as he falls over in exhaustion. Rimrith wonders why Val would go through such measures for his followers, and reminds Val that he is the prince of a kingdom. The dragon, now free lets out a roar as Val explains that they are not his followers - they are all friends who are accompanying him on his journey and have put all of their strength into helping him. Val continues that he himself wantes to do everything he can, and that he is a friend to them first and foremost over being a prince of a kingdom.

Rimrith asks Val - that if Val were to fall, his people waiting for him back home would be saddened...has the prince given up on the idea of being able to go home? Val replies that that's not true, but if he can't even protect his treasured friedns, he can't be someone who can protect his people. The dragon speaks to Val, warning the prince that in this world it is not always successful to blindly approach things in such a rash way...and that the world does not always reward those whose hearts are pure and true. However, since Val has freed him he will allow him this one time to sit on his back. Val asks if the dragon is really going to give them a lift and the dragon sternly replies "just this once and not ever again." Helped by Rimrith, Val is hoisted up - and Rimrith cannot help but be amazed that Val is able to seal the curse of the sword in his thin body.

In the outside world, Havi and Hallyne battle the Lizard beast - Hallyne having successfully sealed the beast's mouth and preventing it from breathing flames at them again. Havi demands that the beast tell them what it has done with Val - the beast merely replies with a cunning grin which tells them that the beast had indeed planned something. As the beast chuckles to himself, the dragon rises up behind it and smacks the Lizard off into the distance. The dragon lands softly and Havi sees Val and Rimrith. Havi rushes over and asks what happened to him as Val tells the wizard to ask the dragon for the fruit that will save Ruruka. Havi asks Val who did this to him and what could have happened to damage the prince this much. Rimrith tells the wizard that he should heal the prince quickly as Val had saved the dragon by forcefully removing the cursed spikes from it's body - and that if Val hadn't used the demon's power within him he would not be alive.

Havi asks Val if he had used the demon's power of his own will and Val merely looks back at him in wonder at such a question. Smacking the prince in the face, Havi begins to heal him then angrily turns his back. Val wondering at Havi's attitude looks up at the wizard as he asks the prince why he didn't wait for him to come - he had gone off on his own and gotten hurt. Havi questions if Val even needs him. Havi continues to say that even though Val had demanded that the wizard never get hurt again, the prince willingly goes off and has no regard for his own life.
On top of it, Val has stopped fighting against the curse - if the prince is fine without him, perhaps the wizard will no longer need to accompany him on his journey. Val, finally realizing what has angered Havi watches sadly as the wizard walks away. Hallyne wonders what Havi is being sulky about, saying that Val was merely doing his best.

Having eaten the magical fruit, Ruruka is back in full force and asks Val if he was the one who had gotten that yummy fruit for him. Val tells the bunny he is glad he's alright as Hallyne comments that if Ruruka was about to croak, he should have told them sooner. Ruruka defends himself and says that he was really shocked... that 'his' Val had willingly given himself to that stupid wizard - because Val belongs to Ruruka. Hallyne, exasperated, says "THAT'S your reason?" Havi merely watches them from a distance - still angry. Ruruka notices this and wonders if the two of them got into a fight. If that's the case, from this night on Ruruka will sleep with Val (Val says that Ruruka always sleeps with him) as Havi snaps.

Rimrith wonders if the gang will be travelling to the Imperial City from here on - he has things he must do and is about to leave. Val tells him that they've not decided yet, but in order to break the curse of the sword they must meet the Emperor's wizard that Rimrith had spoken about - "...if everyone is willing to come along" Val says as he glances back at Havi.[/url]

Summary:
Ok so, after Mori III we left bear Morinaga angsting, some days passed but he wasn't able to see again his adored wolf, he always looked at him from afar and everytime he is spotted, Wolf Tatsumi just ignores him.
Meanwhile in the forest rumors about a dangersou beast are starting to spread...

Tatsumi then is questioned by his brother and sister, why lately he is not going to visit mr Bear? He answers that the bear is fine, but his brothers wonder about it adding also that Tatsumi seemed always quite happy when it was the day to go to the bear's place and give him food so it's weird that he doesn't go visit him anymore. Of course Tatsumi says it was only because he wanted to thank him for what he did for them before..

Then we see Bear Morinaga walking in the forest, he realizes that he got lost and also has a bad feeling as if something horrible is going to happen... which is exactly what happens, he falls in a trap and is taken away by some humans.
One of the wolves sees all and goes to tell Tatsumi. It seems those people mistook bear Morinaga for the beast who was scaring and killing around. Of course it couldn't have been Bear Morinaga because he is not very strong and also, he was sleeping during all the attacks due to being too weak and without much food.
They wonder if there is something they can do but Tatsumi says it's that bear fault for being captured.
His brother complains, he says he doesn't know what happened between Tatsumi and that bear but he was a friend for them...and he might be killed now.
Tatsumi then tells them that those people are dangerous and until he says it's fine they should not go near the human's base. There is almost nothing that they can do. Then he tells them to go to sleep.

It's night and Morinaga bear wakes up in a cage, he realizes he is still alive but imprisoned and starts to be afraid, he knows those people eat bear's meat and he never actually thought about being eaten...he is really scared. Then he remembers when Wolf Tatsumi pleaded to not be killed during their...ahem interlude, and he kept crying and pleading, there was blood and pain, he realizes maybe he felt what Morinaga is feeling now... Then his words "You'd force the one you love to do this even if he doesn't want?"
He realized his mistake and wishes nothing more than to meet wolf Tatsumi one more time to apologize. This is when he hears noises and exactly wolf Tatsumi comes calling him a stupid and all.
Then he proceeds to try to open the cage, Morinaga asks him why is he doing it, he should be angry at him..
Tatsumi says of course he is...and then adds stupid reasons why he is saving him (but oh we know the truth XDD). However it seems really hard, the cage won't open and Morinaga is thankful for the help but tells him to leave, it would be bad if Tatsumi too would be discovered and imprisoned. He adds he is really grateful, he was able to see him again at least one more time, of course Tatsumi gets angry saying he shouldn't talk like that, they are going to escape together!
Morinaga tells him he loves him, and that he is really really sorry for what he did before his face is quite sad as if he knows there is nothing more to hope for.
Tatsumi then begs him to stop talking this way, he understood the bear's feelings and it's fine for him as long as something like that won't happen again, so he begs him to not give up.
And when it seems that the cage is going to open there is a shoot and Tatsumi falls on the floor.
Bear Morinaga is shocked, he doesn't realize at first but then he sees Tatsumi on the floor and gets angry, he breaks the cage and takes him, realizes how much blood the wolf is losing, scares the hell out of all the humanss and runs away with a bleeding Tatsumi praying God to save him.

Some time later we see a recoviering Tatsumi, everyone around him and Morinaga also there. We find out that bear Morinaga took him to the wolves territory and then kept treating him with his herbal medicines. Tatsumi slept for a long while reemaining between life and death for so long. But then he woke up finally and Morinaga for all that time kept praying God. Tatsumi then thanks him for saving him yet again but Morinaga says that it was his fault of he was hurt so..
Then he asks the bear to teach the people of his group how to make those herbal remedies he always uses...and Morinaga is happy to do it and asks, so is it fine if he comes to see them? Tatsumi says it's fine as long as he doesn't try to eat them.
Morinaga, happy, promises he won't do that, he is happy to be able to remain at Tatsumi's side and nothing more.
